During remote learning, Intermediate Drama specialism students studied the comical performance style of Commedia dell’Arte. Students engaged in a series of virtual workshops that explored this performance style to develop their physical skills in bringing exaggerated characters to life in creative ways. Students further extended their skills in experimenting with the comedic timing of this Italian theatre style through incorporating elements of slap stick and over exaggeration. Students researched and hand made masks to represent their characters within their self-devised ensemble group. Students learnt many new skills such as virtual improvisation and screen acting as well as editing footage in post-production. These were such a joy to make and we hope you enjoy them!
