INTERMEDIATE DRAMA

Pt 2: Australian Theatre

Upon the return to face-to-face learning, Intermediate Drama specialism students studied Australian history through exploring a range of different Australian plays. Students read and workshopped different characters and scripts from Dags by Debra Oswald, Cosi by Louis Nowra, Boy Girl Wall by Matthew Ryan and Lucas Stibbard, and Salt Creek Murders by Melissa Reeves. Understanding Australian history was key as it required students to understand the context of these plays to deepen characterisation and interactions within the play. Students worked hard to learn, block, rehearse and refine characters and scenes to costume and film for our virtual Showcase. Students have worked exceptionally well to produce such quality theatre in a short period of time.
