In Term 4, students researched the work of Alexander Calder and the artistic movement of Kinetic Art. Students created miniature Calder mobiles using a range of tools and techniques that demonstrated their understanding for the principles of balance and motion in Kinetic Art. Students continued their investigations in Kinetic Art and created a series of designs for proposed automated drawing machines. This involved developing systems and parameters of generative art making that employed elements of chance, challenging traditional ideas of Art making.
